Please join us at our January 2026 PTPA Zoom Gathering featuring presenters during the one hour session from the University of Notre Dame – Global Center for the Development of the Whole Child, a group that will discuss methods to enable strong beginnings for children in Haiti. including school based, home based, and community/parish based interventions, and distance learning activities.

The University of Notre Dame also has an Institute for Educational Initiatives. They held a conference in April 2025: Education in Haiti: Navigating Challenges and Unlocking Opportunities. Two PTPA Board members participated.

As Neil Boothby, Ed.D., the Director of the Institute for Educational Initiatives, stated: “Given the ongoing instability in Haiti, and funding challenges presented by the current US administration, the need for a focused consortium on Education in Haiti is more necessary than ever.” The conference achieved many of its goals. He shared with PTPA the summary report for the conference and its objectives and a learning report for the period 2020-2024.

In addition, at the 2025 PTPA National Conference “Hearts on Fire,” we addressed the burning question:
"How can we ensure a brighter future for our brothers and sisters in Haiti and Latin America?
The answer: Through Quality Education." Kate Schuenke-Lucien, the Director of the Global Center for the Development of the Whole Child, Haiti, Institute for Educational Initiatives, presented "The Power of Parish Twinning for Education in Haiti"
