A Season to Shine the Light!

PTPA is launching the HAITI PARISH VISIT PILOT PROGRAM to strengthen relationships among twins, to support U.S. parishes that are currently unable to visit their twinned parishes in Haiti.

This initiative offers meaningful ways to stay connected and engaged, even from afar. As part of the program, PTPA's Haiti-based team will conduct visits to the Haitian parish twin on behalf of the U.S. parish twins to help maintain engagement, gather updates, and strengthen relationships.

As previously noted, Phase 1 of the pilot will focus on parishes located in Haiti’s northern departments. A trip report will be shared with participating parishes upon completion, and key lessons learned will be presented during future member Zoom gatherings.

The BENEFITS OF TWINNING and GETTING INVOLVED

In Evangelii Gaudium (The Joy of the Gospel), Pope Francis encourages us to live the Gospel more fully and deeply by reaching out to the poor and broken, building justice and peace in the world and finding joy in all of it.

You will not only transform the lives of those living in poverty; the spiritual enrichment and joy of the Gospel experienced by missioners engaged in twinning relationships is profound.

Building a relationship and partnering with a parish in a foreign country can be complicated and fraught with challenges. To help you on your journey, the Parish Twinning Program of the Americas and its over 200 U.S. Catholic Church members stand ready to assist you along the way to ensure that your relationship is as rich and rewarding as possible.
